Spatiоtemporal analysis of the changes of the main habitats of the Kozachelaherska arena (Nyzhniodniprovsky sands, Kherson region, Ukraine) in the period of 1990–2020

Landsat satellite images (Landsat-5 for the period of 1990–2010 and Landsat-8 year 2020) were used spatiotemporal analysis dynamics main habitats Kozachelaherska arena (Nyzhniodniprovsky sands, Kherson region, Ukraine). Habitats classified according to EUNIS principles. revealed a considerable decrease in summary area coniferous plantations 2000–2010. During last two decades, losses significantly exceeded renewal plantations. large permanent aquatic north-east part decreased by 2.5 times thirty years. water supply territory is constantly decreasing, probably due reduction precipitation ground level. At same time, territories under open sand doubled, process overgrowth with vegetation has slowed down, its have increased. All these changes are most likely caused increasingly arid climate southern Ukraine, which may, over lead replacement characteristic sandy steppes sands.
